Oxygenates the fires
Enmeshed by water

It's okay to be bare
I am not here to stare
except maybe in aww
I too have a lot of flaws
I am not one to care
I understand life is not fair

Have you ever felt a storm raging within?
A tempest born of your own shortcomings,
Where no scapegoat exists but your own reflection.

Many of us look up to those who inspire us. Not me. I look down. I didn’t find my idol in a book or a newspaper, in a classroom or on the TV. I gave birth to you. You’re sitting five feet away as I type this, licking icing off your fingers from the cinnamon swirl you made yesterday, and wiping them on your blanket, eyes fixed on an inane series of YouTube shorts. Not inspiration material? Sometimes seeing all the cogs makes our heroes all the more inspiring, and you inspire me every day.
