EAR TO THE GROUND

"What is told in the ear of a man is often heard 100 miles away." Chinese Proverb

You keep running around, all over town

Not caring how it looks, or how it sounds

I deal with the stares, the gossip, and the laughs

You think I’m unaware, but you’d be wrong

I’m keeping my ear to the ground

Baby, you’re in surround sound

Feeling like a fool, here in the dark

Knowing you’re with him, again

Thinking that I’ll never know

Whose bed you’re in

Honey, you’d be wrong

I’m keeping my ear to the ground

Baby, you’re in surround sound

Your cheating is getting old, my heart is growing cold

Each and every night, I wait here all alone

You think I’ll always be waiting, here at home

Your fool to humiliate, cheat on, and stone

But honey, you’d be dead wrong

I’m packing, leaving, I’m gone

Baby, you’re in surround sound

You’re in surround sound

I’m leaving

I’m gone

This poem somehow become country music sounding lyrics and I am not really into most country music. But who knows how poetry accidents actually happen.
