Dusk

A pale blue sky appears

The colors from this day fade beyond the hill becoming as pale as the moon that now lights the ground

A sole beacon shining as a reminder that new beginnings will rise again with the sun

I reflect on my once blank canvas that has been painted over again with new colors

Tattered and torn in the search to find the perfect rainbow

Inevitably stripped bare to start once again

My red lips whisper hidden desires to the stars in hopes that they will twinkle in response

A timeless secret that lasts only in this moment until dusk settles into its final hour and releases me from the sun's harsh light

The green grass grows cool between my toes and the stillness of the night air invigorates me

Blue eyes closed

A breath in, a breath out

I’m finally unbound
