Desolate Lands
A poem about a vision of a coming desolation of lands

The land was once a paradise
Full of life and joy
But now it lies in ruin
A desolate and empty void
The people's wicked ways
Brought about this fate
Their greed and selfishness
Did seal their earthly fate
The earth is but a shell
Of what it once was
The animals have fled
No longer here to fuss
The trees are bare and lifeless
The rivers run dry
The skies are grey and clouded
No longer do they sigh
The land was once so vibrant
But now it's dark and cold
A victim of man's wickedness
Forever to remain old
But perhaps one day
The land will heal
And the people will learn
To love and feel
Forgiveness for the earth
They must find
Only then can it be reborn
And hope for mankind.
