Desert Rituvls (2020)

This performance we recorded in downtown El Paso at the historic San Carlos building for the Vero Rocks Livestream in support of Veronica Carbajal for mayor. Special thanks to Chuck Fidel for jumping in on bass.

We're runnin' runnin' runnin'

We're running

We're running

running

NOW

-

In the desert

we do what it takes

to survive (check it!)

First.

There was the fox

And then

So much more

As brother bear, beckons breath

blows the conch

Creates the blues

And blessings of creation.

Ay permisso.

Let us through

To thrive.

In the desert

you can hear

The sounds of

existence -

breathing

in and out toward persistence

We're

living to be living

And living before living

but

DEATH

wears the mask of the living.

WE

ARE

Society

transcendent in

incandescent light and dust

as

Dead stars

Ignite to incite

our unique verse

of the Universe

Let us

Elevate!

to reveal

axiomatic truths:

If we must die, we must die

but not until we have

LIVED!

Mira

El Sol.

Mira

La Luna.

Body of Light and yearning

return from the ether

of timelessness

Plant your roots

and plant them home

Plant your roots

and let them grow

Plant your roots

and make it home

Plat your roots

and make it grow!

It is hidden in the

lonely nopalito

that grows in the desert

You are not alone

- you are only the beginning

Sprout seeds of

Mandala Meanderings

Persist, little flower.

Resist, little flower!

The dance

of life and death

Reveals itself to those

who stand

triumphant

under the glow of a hungry moon.

These are our

residual

spiritual

individual

rituals

In tune with the collective

These are our

Sacred desert visions.
