The shadows are cold
Outside of the real
It's a place that was created
To be when you feel
Those not in the shadows
Really don't know
The place can be difficult
For your mind to grow
At the edge of the shadows
Emotions are on alert
Every sense every nerve
Refuses to be hurt
The darkness is numbing
The air is still
The outlook from here
Is controlled by your will
Tough to leave the shadows
As I hope to someday
When the light that shines
Points the other way
The barrier is blurring
As the light creeps near
A heart feels warmer
When your purpose becomes clear
Is it worth the effort
Is it worth the pain
When the shadows become light
Love is not in vain.
