Dancing moons
A poem from 1992
We meet on paths dim with starlight,
touching hands, lips, hearts.
Cleaving the prodigious oceans of dreams;
magic. Dancing moons circling
the cloud swept arch above.
Threads of misty silken-ness,
tenuous connections through time and space
drawing us nigh, across the dreaming waves,
keeping us hidden from overt view
subliminal only, the awareness of the bright other.
Lazily we circle one another,
thoughts outstretched; moving towards that future time,
that corporeal meeting place; recognition flash.
Where bodies can continue
the communion of mind and spirit.
Will it be in this time and place
a soul's cognisance of mate?
Or shall we be content...
swimming, drifting, innocence dancing,
the clear, warm, dark starshine.
