This is my first attempt at poetry in another language. I hope this makes sense to native speakers. I speak Italian, but I am out of practice and I would hardly call myself fluent anymore.

I have included the English translation below. Please enjoy :)

Portami il cielo,

ma tieni le nuvole

e la pioggia.

Portami l'oceano,

ma tieni il vento

e le onde.

Portami il tuo cuore,

ma non trattenere nulla.

Prenderò il peggio di te,

prima di prendere

il meglio di tutto il resto.

English translation:

Bring me the sky,

but keep the clouds

and the rain.

Bring me the ocean,

but keep the wind

and the waves.

Bring me your heart,

but hold nothing back.

I'll take the worst of you

before I take the best of everything else.
