You handed me your heart,
And I drank from the cup of love,
Without hesitation,
Without thought,
Without word.
You smiled, like art
Breathtaking imagery whereof,
I was clueless,
I was foolish,
My vision blurred.
There was no trace of evil
Breaking through the crevices
Of the mask you wore,
So brilliantly,
So elegantly,
Like angel light.
Entranced by something lethal,
Emerged from a darkened genesis,
To my heart, you placed an anchor,
Weighed down,
On the ground,
A poetic plight.
Yet, I reach out to you to save me,
The very thing to break me,
To curse me,
To kill me,
To betray.
And as the stars float up above me,
I wonder if you’d ever love me,
Dangerously,
Endlessly,
Perhaps maybe,
In a world where you let me stay.
