I remember home,
from Before
I felt completely safe and calm
I felt and tasted the warmth of love
Just by walking in the door
Wait, no…
Just by existing
I’ve experienced short spurts of the feeling here
Where my pain may exist, but the eyes
The eyes always show the base of love
I want to create a home
Where upon walking across the threshold,
You feel as though you were born anew,
And you know that
You are safe, free, and loved, at last.
Sink into respite, young ones,
For I aim to create heaven on Earth.

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
