Contradictory Tapestry
Contradictions we can't ignore

To the alien from realms unknown,
Who now on Earth has newly flown,
I must confess, you'll find, I fear,
Some things on this orb quite queer.
*
Upon this sphere, we often strive,
For things that make no sense alive,
We chase the paper, coins, and fame,
But sometimes, kindness we disclaim.
*
We claim to love this Earth so dear,
Yet pollute the air, the waters clear,
We dream of peace, we yearn for war,
Contradictions we can't ignore.
*
We speak of freedom, justice too,
Yet prejudice and hatred brew,
In unity, we say we stand,
Yet divisions grip our land.
*
So, dear visitor, observe with care,
The paradoxes Earthlings bear,
In our absurdity, you will see,
A complex, contradictory tapestry.

Ah, there's definitely a lot of paradoxes on earth. Loved your poem!
Great poem 👏🏽. I actually wrote with a similar concept for the alien challenge 😅. It's been a while since I seen your name pop up. Welcome back (if you were away somewhere)
