Colliding Worlds

Red and Blue

Sharon K Anderson

the ground of black marble and stardust crumble at dawn

blue planets spinning in the sky slow as a burning ball rises again

somewhere time stopped being felt, and now the minutes are all but gone

and I’ve never felt so far from heaven

ears ready to hear the trill signaling your lavender-laced breath

with words of sweet wisdom and ponders to all the unknown

the reassurances that there truly is no death

that you tread the place where all of our ancestors go

i would look up and see pink flames settling on the horizon

and now it’s like it is dark all day

i lost my connection to any spiritual or physical realm without realizing

the birds flock when no ones around, but wings never stay

it’s so loud in this new dark world

in a silence that is no longer filled by you

heat rises and the rising asphalt curls

and whatever red pills I took return to blue

if the heart slips into the halls of an empty white space

and there’s no way to get back to the past

i hope you come find me, and never go away

so i could join you in forever at last

Love always,

Chayle
