Cold Pillow

For my Brothers Christian and Alexis

We are held in the void of whole despair, enraptured, and only there does the world endure William Bronk

Crowned to early

Now on the other side

Belonging to a

kingdom

unseen

Your energy

as living light

Has been subtly displaced

Subtly moved from

this place

Spiraling upward

Pulsating with

brilliance and elastic

movement.

Your body

a cold pillow

Uncanny

in a cold casket.

The illumination that

made you who you were

has been abruptly diminished.

Yet

not destroyed.

Your passion

Has been temporarily

pacified and transmuted into a

space beyond my grasp. In turn, my

hope, like a skittish bird

has flown away into that unknown

sphere as well.

Conflicted here

While you flex on and

onward beyond that hazy

horizon where we shall all

meet.
