Cold Cereal

What became of him

Cold Cereal

They all told me that I wasn't college material;

They told me I wouldn't make much of myself,

Hated grade school with every bite of cold cereal.

Shoulders slouched and posture askance,

I thought I'd grow up to be a nobody,

Missing out on life's finer dance.

Then, one day I started to tell myself that I could,

School became a gateway drug that led to success,

And sure enough, I stood,

Taller and confidently as I was proven to be collage material,

A scholar and a lawyer,

They all used to tell me that I wasn't college material;

They told me I wouldn't make much of myself.
