Clouds

Little puffs of grey and white

Gloomy clouds of gray and white,

why are you not so bright?

In a sea of blue and gold,

why have you not more colors to behold?

In the water of blue and green,

fish are far more colorful than they seem.

Why is it not the same for you

while trapped in a sky of various hue?

You could brighten someone's day

if you were pink or orange as you sailed away.

Through a sky of so much wonder

that you should be so deprived of color is a blunder.

Do you cast a jealous gaze at the world

when you hold no more color than a pearl?

For all its luster, a pearl is a stone of white.

However, if you please, in the right light...

A rainbow is there to be seen.

Colors of far more than blue and green.

A lovely ribbon of hope to light up the sky

and sure to catch the attention of every eye.

Gloomy clouds of gray and white

why are you not so bright?

In a sea of blue and gold,

why have you not more colors to behold?
