Chemotherapy

A poem for the poisonous soul

By Paisley BirdPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Bite sized jealousy slips in

Poison disguised as concern

I remember when I really loved you

The infection turns fatal

And I destroy us

To save me

But, don’t you know?

I’m ingesting the venom

Hoping you’ll choke

And see that I was right all along

Chemotherapy

Brittle tears don’t phase me

I’m suffocating in power

This beauty has turned to rot

Villain heart- why am I smiling?

Ah, don’t you see?

I’m ingesting the venom

Hoping you’ll seize

And know that I was right all along

I remember when I really loved you

I remember when I really loved you

I remember when I really loved you

I remember when I really loved you

More than me
