She’s trying to walk straight, struggling to keep her head up.
The weight on her back is unbearable.
Her chest tightens, every breath a scorching delight.
The ground is shaking,
the world a chaotic blur.
She keeps stumbling, collapsing countless times.
The cold hard ground,
a reminder of her once beloved’s heart.
She lays there, sobbing.
Again.
The heartache is paralyzing.
How can she do this to me?
With a confused but dauntless look on her face,
she gets back up. Again.
She’s frantically trying to find her way out of this torment.
Blinded by the overwhelming darkness,
she’s unable to find the right path.
The path that will lead her to composure.
Fortunately for her though,
the crack of dawn was just around the corner.
Come home already,
I’ve got blankies to keep you warm.
