it comes but once to any or all
springing erupt between the earth
sudden winter upon a hearth
a sizzling summer touch
first gust of cold galling fall
certainly this certain feeling
sends us high low reeling
asks and begs affections alms
giving gasped elations
then slipping grasping palms
once in and on the un and comely few
once felt yet flit like mist and dew
once sure and straight so clear and fine
then lost to seek another entwined
then hidden so afraid to show
clandestine and eschew
