Catalina

Catalina you have a sunshiny smile

Catalina you have a sunshiny smile

You caught me with your emerald eyes.

Brighten like the pearl dissolving in the wine

Aphrodite dropped her earring

into the sea, cries

White boats playing their games in the water

People drink and lie on the beach

Catalina I know you keep your secrets

between the mountains, and sky

The traces up and down beat my heart

Running between your harbors

merging into your veins

The murmur of the waves pat my mind

Catalina I missed your starlight

I missed your starlight I missed your shy

From the window I saw you

in Renoir’s Luncheon of the Boating Party, nigh

nature poetry
