Breathing in Divinity

A Poem Inspired by a Friend

What had birthed your divinity,

The same divinity that illuminates even the darkest of paths?

I simply cannot put your brilliance into words,

Nor in any unit of measurement known to us.

~

Your features, every line, detail, and contour

On your face,

Are timeless cosmic scales

That I could observe for all eternity.

However, embracing you

Is what I intend to do, for as long

As I know of existence itself.

~

I sometimes feel as though I am able to

Breathe you in, like the ambrosial scent

Of freshly bloomed flora.

I think of you, and suddenly

The break of dawn simmers my faunal senses.

~

You obliterate foul dogmas within me,

And liberate my senescent mind.

Now I know that I, inspirited

Can start breathing peacefully,

Whenever I see your face.
