Believe the Lie

A Poem

Believe the lie.

It won't hurt.

You'll never cry.

Just believe the lie.

To survive...

With a twisted smile

He wasn't to be trusted.

She knew something just wasn't right.

But it felt so nice.

She told herself:

Believe the lie.

It won't hurt.

You'll never cry.

Just believe the lie.

To survive...

He handed her, all her dreams.

Then Stayed out all night

Came home smelling like cheap perfume

Saying all the while, he loved her so.

She just knew something wasn't right.

But she kept telling herself to:

Believe the lie.

It won't hurt.

You'll never cry.

Just believe the lie.

To survive...

It won't hurt.

You won't cry.

And you'll make it one more day.

If you:

Believe the lie.

It won't hurt.

You'll never cry.

Just believe the lie.

To survive...

Believe the lie.

Believe the lie.

Just believe the lie.
