Being Near Again

A little pun never hurt...

Trembling and nervous I board the flight,

Excited and intrepid for the night.

Sunset gleams over the world,

As I drift off into a dream.

Seeing you as you walked towards me,

Eyes all shining like it was a lifetime here,

Smile worth more than any weight of gold,

As you pull me in close into your arms to hold,

The emotion we share infected the air,

And all we could do was just stand there.

Bump of the wheels on tarmac makes me awake,

Groggy headed like I slept late,

I deboarded the plane and walked down the corridor

Taxing along with the many, hustled out the doors,

I find myself waiting,

I find myself impatient,

Then I see you there staring at me.

Your smile...

Your eyes....

You being there.
