Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

The beauty in brown eyes.

Why is is when you think of “beautiful” eyes they are green and blue?

Why is it brown eyes are considered plain?

Have you seen brown eyes when light kisses them as they look at you?

They start a fire so bright that it puts the hottest of flames to shame.

Those warm chocolate circles become a pool of liquid gold that make you feel warm, too.

Perhaps they become backlit,

an orange so deep you get lost watching the sunset in their eyes.

Brown eyes so dark that they resemble a black hole,

dark as a starless night, intense and welcoming all the same,

the furthest depths of the sea that will lead to your demise.

You don’t know what lies beneath,

but if they went unexplored it would be such a shame.

These eyes grab you by your throat and leave you breathless.

Brown eyes vary like skin colours;

they are wild, they are reckless, they are tame.

Specks of colour like beauty marks scatter within their depths,

lines cutting like scars.

Brown eyes are a treasure begging to be found

an X marks their spot in a place that could cause your demise.
