Beautiful Diamond
(In the Rough)
She is a diamond.
She may be a diamond in the rough, but that’s okay.
In fact, it’s beautiful…
Jagged edges,
sharp enough to slice through anything in her way…
any obstacle she may face…
Relentlessly,
just like the world as it challenged her,
testing her strength against an immeasurable amount of pressure.
…
However, nothing or no one is invincible.
She was no exception.
Yes, there were times where the world broke her.
After all,
Being broken is a necessary part in the process of becoming whole…
But she never crumbled.
She is not dirt.
She is a diamond in the rough.
💎 To be artificially altered may add to the aesthetic,
but doing so would rob her of her true beauty. 💎
To endure the pressures of the world coming down on her is quite the feat.
To do so and come out shining…is simply beautiful.
She is simply beautiful.
She is a diamond.
She may be a diamond in the rough, but that’s ok.
In fact, it’s beautiful…

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
