A broken person

Can pretend to be whole,

But the lies you tell others

Can’t be told to your soul.

You can have many masks,

But at the end of the day,

The person in the mirror

Is who you have to face.

It doesn’t matter what picture

You post on “the ‘gram”

Or what status you have

When you know it’s a sham.

So take down the wall

Stop the charade

The wounds in your heart

Are cut by your own blade

The people who matter

Will love the real you

In this short life we have

There is nothing to prove

So dance your own dance
