At the River...

By Godfrey

We stand at the bank of the river ,

As It roars to the ALMIGHTY,

A deafening sound; we quiver,

And our bodies stiffened so tightly.

It flows in an eastward direction ,

to an outlet in the Atlantic,

But, we see in a distance and upon reflection ,

Its purpose, its mission; impact

And with that reflection, at the river’s bank ,

We put away anxious fears ;

With our minds relaxed, we give thank s,

for sunny smiles from hopeless tears.

Full of vigor and purpose, we walk away

with the river’s lesson of honor,

That despite life's risks, twists, and delay

We will roar, we will deafen; Conquer.
