As Time Goes By

The church bells chime, it’s now midnight,

Cinderella ran all the way home.

The bang of fireworks could be heard all around us,

As the sounds of cheers explode.

#

Celebrations continue all through the night,

As a new year starts to begin.

Xmas now over until this year,

As we all look forward to spring.

#

Easter is now upon us,

Birds sing and the daffodils grow.

The sun shines more to cheer us up,

As we say goodbye to the snow.

#

Holidays are here again,

We pack up and go away.

We bake in the sun’s hot temperatures,

As children run outside to play.

#

The evenings begin to grow darker,

The trees start to lose their green leaves.

A brand new term starts at school,

And we notice a chill in the breeze.

#

Winter is looming upon us,

Xmas is not far away.

Children get far more excited,

As they know Santa will come on his sleigh.

#

Twelve months has passed already,

Goodbye to another year.

We hope this year was a good one,

And hopefully so will next year.

#

The church bells chime, it’s now midnight,

We toast our champagne, wine or beer.

Wishing each and every one of you,

A very happy and prosperous new year!
