Arrhythmia
This is a poem about Bipolar Type II. To anyone who relates; I see you.
Lying awake,
Staring at the ceiling,
Internally screaming,
Thinking about the billion things that they could do.
The whole house is clean by 4:00 A.M.
They'll pay for it in the morning,
But they'll swear they're doing better.
And they will be,
For the time being.
But, eventually
The clock will stop,
And it will be time to go back to sleep.
A vicious cycle.
A rising tide that swells before receding.
Depleted.
An endless, irregular heartbeat.

That really hit home - good job!

I felt every word of this. Powerfully done!
Hey - Great job! ðâšI sometimes have issues with sleep..do you find something that helps in this situation?
I'm not Bipolar but I have other mental health issues so this was somewhat relatable. My heart goes out to all who are Bipolar. I loved the ending line, endless irregular heartbeat. Because I literally do have that and that resonated with me. Loved your poem!
