Archie is Gobbling
For Nora
Archie is gobbling down food right now
He's hungry a lot and that explains how
He says he wants food
But he isn't too rude
And when he's done he thanks us, "Meow"!
****Archie was a feral (wild) cat living around our backyard until he had his fight with the coyotes. He was badly hurt, but about ten days after we heard the fight and thought he was dead, he showed up at a basement window in rough shape and very, very skinny. We got him to the cat rescue shelter we volunteer with, and they nursed him back to health (though they couldn't save his left front leg). We were the first in line to adopt him when the time came, and we jumped at the chance. He's an extremely lovey little guy and you can rest assured I make sure he never goes hungry!****

Nora just read The Smart One poem about Phillip. She said, “oh! I should write one about Meow Meow. Meow Meow my kitty. He twitches his nose, opens the doors and through he goes.” You have inspired some new kitty poetry and she’s coming up with these so fast. This is so much fun. Archie is the loudest cat I've ever known, especially if we're tardy with his food. We don't complain as he was close to starving to death after he dragged himself to us! Thanks for reading these little pieces Ahna. I added them on here at Vocal because the young daughter of another Vocal writer started writing cat 'limericks' after reading the first batch I slapped together for the Ludicrous Limerick challenge. Kinda hoping to keep her going at it...
