Ancient Truth
Bits of wisdom passed down to the next generation.
Unto you I will now unfold
My gathered wisdom to behold.
These pearls of wisdom will lose no luster
If you hold them tight with all you can muster.
Whatever goes up must also come down.
Not every king will forever wear a crown.
Not every beast will appear ugly.
Not every princess will seem lovely.
The sun will set, and the sun will rise.
Snake oil salesmen will always tell lies.
Not every monster is under your bed.
Not all dreams live only in your head.
All good things must come to an end.
Not everyone you meet is a true friend.
Not every failure is a reason to fret.
Not every gamble is a losing bet.
Not every promise will be truly bound.
All who wander will, eventually, be found.
To every creature, always be kind.
They may help you more wisdom to find.
Now it is time, my child. I must depart.
Take this truth. Hide it in your heart.
Though many challenges you may face
Many solutions you can embrace.
Now am I old and you have your youth.
Take with you as you age these Ancient Truths.
