An Endless Possibilites

I am endless possibilities.

Lying in glass displays or stacked inside plastic cubes, I can be found almost everywhere. The chances of me getting picked up everyday are almost a hundred percent.

I am your constant companion, your daily essential. I am a powerful little tool that can make one feel frustrated one second earlier when I am nowhere to be seen and completely erase that frown a second later once I am found.

I come in many different forms and mostly favored in blue and black. Yet, I come in an array of colors that suits your mood whenever you want me to be.

I travel to most part of the world and am a constant companion to some, if not most. I know your deepest secrets — the guy you had a crush on when you were fifteen and the real reason you left your job at twenty-five.

I am that pen you are holding on to right now.

-----

Many years back, I was working in a bank as a part of the operations team. Oftentimes, my branch manager would challenge us to sell him a pen — a challenge that kept us thinking on our feet, a challenge that assessed if we are a potential for the sales team.

But it is also the thing that I dread the most.

With no absolute interest in joining the sales team, I’ll always “escape” from the question.

As life would have it, the thing you run away from the most, you end up running right into it.

If time would turn back, I would pick up that pen and sell him, not a pen but an endless possibilities.

Food for Thought Today:

If a pen, that is so tiny can be an endless possibilities — what more you?
