On the day before You carried the cross
I saw You standing there
A spring breeze blowing through your wavy, chesnut hair
I was amazed that day I saw your purest eyes of blue
All the mysteries of the Universe dancing in them too
Pale robes of translucent white
Shimmering in the broad daylight
Standing there, watching me
Children playing all around
Dry their tears, calm their fears
Isn't that what you used to do?
Sing a song, teach them right from wrong
Love them all, catch them when they fall
The price you paid set You eternally free
And Truth forever holds the key.
