American Dream

nowhere to be seen

They sold us the American Dream

then they shipped it overseas

it's the land of the free and the home of the brave

if you have money and are willing to sell your soul

go ahead chase your dreams

nothing is, as it seems

entertainment makes us numb

poor education keeps us dumb

so we don't question the lack of funds

if you struggle it will make you strong

that's their favorite song and dance

they reaped the benefits on easy mode

then rigged the game and left us alone

broken pathways with paper shields

systemic barriers treated like they aren't real

let's change the narrative

and tell some truth

you have to worship the invisible man or the invisible hand

if not, you've already lost

bought into the hierarchy

I have a chance as long as someone is below me

what trickles down sure taste funny

living in the land of blood and money
