Alone in the Crowd

The shy girl speaks.

By Cheryl E PrestonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Her silence speaks volumes

Not uttering a word says everything

She is the deep thinker

The one who discerns

Observing the actions of others

She marches along

Getting lost in the crowd's sea of faces

It's almost as though she is invisible

She's seemingly oblivious to the world around her

Yet she drinks in every sight and sound

Never standing yet she is outstanding

Taking in detail that others miss

People push past on the left and the right

She ignores them and forges ahead

She's not a lonely girl

She's just comfortable

Being alone in the crowd
