The James River flows,

How fast,

No one knows,

Look down from above,

The river you will love,

For endless days,

By Nathaniel Villaire on Unsplash

Walking along the banks,

To God,

Giving Thanks,

For the beauty He put there,

The breeze flowing through your hair,

A life lived along the river,

The city of Richmond comes alive,

There are ways it will thrive,

By Salomé Guruli on Unsplash

With the James River,

At the back door,

You will hear it roar,

Loud enough to hear,

With the railways near,

The city alive at night,

With its lights bright,

Life is lived here,

In Richmond, Virginia,

The Capital of our Commonwealth.
