Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Just Some Thoughts I Guess

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions speak louder than words.

So Mom,

When I’m alone in my room all the time,

When I’m not speaking words to anyone,

That’s me screaming at you.

Screaming that I need help.

Actions speak louder than words.

Actions are all I have

When words fail me,

And I don’t know what to say.

Or even how to explain this “thing” I’m going through.

Actions speak louder than words.

So people,

When I’m staring in the mirror

Late at night,

That’s me yelling at my reflection.

Yelling because I hate myself with a passion,

And you were right all along.

I do need to lose some weight,

And maybe buy some acne wash too.

Actions speak louder than words.

So Mom,

When I lay in my bed not talking to anyone,

Binging on food and Netflix,

I’m screaming and crying

And waiting for you to figure out,

That I don’t love myself,

And that I don’t understand

Why anyone in the world

Could stand to look at me,

Or be around me.

“Actions speak louder than words.”

You say,

After I promise not to be so snappy towards everyone.

But Mom,

If actions speak louder than words,

Then why can’t you hear me?
