What if this isn't life
But an in-between?
A dimension where people don't exist
But souls do.
Billions of souls
Here to learn a lesson:
To become good.
What if we live through our "lives"
And then we die
But when we die, we wake up as someone new
Not a person, but a body to learn in.
Maybe a body in a worse lifestyle or condition
Perhaps more hungry and needy
Or richer but greedy.
We open our eyes again for the first time
in this new world...
To grow as bodies and learn as people.
But our souls grow wiser
from where they left off.
And we follow this cycle
Around and around,
Up and down...
Like a computerized language placement test
That gets harder with each question we get right,
And easier with each question we get wrong
Testing our souls and aiming to teach them.
What if we lived in this so-called
"In-Between"
Until our souls are completely pure and wholesome,
Selfless, and beautiful.
What if then
And only then
Is when we are released from this world
Perhaps hundreds of individual lives later
To be rewarded with eternal bliss.
There's no bad ending
But continuous living
Until our souls learn
What living really means
And they no longer have to live anymore.

Lyss x
Poems for the romantic, the curious, the ambitious, sometimes the lonely. For the souls searching for their friend. For the old souls, the young souls, and the everyone-in-between souls.
From my soul to yours...
