Oh stories are such simple things.

Words lined up to give you wings.

Thoughts of old with new dressings.

Or ancient memory of what life brings.

All throughout you’re full of wonder,

who’ll be the pirate, who’ll get the plunder?

And through the journey you will wander.

And for the hero you grow fonder.

Though the twists are each expected,

once you see them, and thoughts reflected,

you didn’t guess them now become dejected.

For by the author you were bested.

Oh simple things are stories

Ideas, and hope, and escape from worries.
