A story from the heart

I listened today...

I really listened...

I listen to stories told in a hospital

And this is what happened...

There was a doctor old and pale

He spoke to a patient who was a smoker

She was denied surgery because they said she smoked

She had a hole in her ear

Which is why she could not listen

The doctor listened to her story

He decided well,

the best thing to do here

is patch up your ear

so that you will hear

he told her she will get surgery

he made sure to make this happen

she was grateful and walked out the door

The doctor beamed and he looked so proud

To know that he listened and found the way out

He helped this lady so that she could start listening
