A Simple Thought

Conundrum

A shot of whiskey,

A puff of smoke sets a pensive moment.

I only want to whisper a slow thought,

Melodramatic...

Husky in it's personality

Only a thought...

Let it lay like a robin's egg...in its nest.

Incubate it, mull it, savor it...

Tis but a simple thought.

Whiskey voice rumbles in your ear,

Wends its way past smallest fear,

Let it tease its way down... a trickle like a tear,

Tracing its way

Leaving trail invisible, like candlelight in day...

A simple thought,

A small request, not a big behest...

Your skin feels that slight tingle,

As when first our hearts did mingle..

Pulling you in directions of...Such a simple thought...

Now for you, my friends..reading..

Watching me unfurl...heeding..

A simple thought to pursue

A small conundrum just for you..

Is it the thought? Or is it...

A hard lived, whiskey smoked, bass of voice,

playing across strings,

Pulling together feelings transmuted into lust,

Singing the story of a mans want lost in a whirlwind of dust?

.....................................OR.........................................

Is it just a slow simple thought?
