Just thought I'd pen this poem,
For my new friend indeed,
Thinking I was all alone,
Right now, in my time of need.
You've made me feel at home,
In a place I could be freed.
Having seen disturbing events of late,
You've helped me to appreciate.
There is a better way, you'd say,
You know that as well as I,
As we've talked about the days,
Good things happen if you try.
You've helped me to understand why,
Maybe even seen me cry,
I wrote this for you, just on my mind,
To say how much your friendship means,
For helping me realize this fact,
I'm not so lonely now, it seems,
And you have been a part of that.
To say, thank you is not enough,
This journey for me, it has been rough,
To know I have a place to turn,
A place I know will not spurn,
Thank you for being there,
When I so needed a friend,
To show someone does honestly care...
My heart and soul shall duly mend,
In your sparkling eyes, I see a true friend.
