Cold outside, it’s hot in here.
Kind eyes gaze, behind them; tears.
Expectations bring lofty dreams.
Glass slippers were designed by impractical fiends.
Frustrations hidden behind sweet smiles.
Being oblivious is a loved one’s best quality.
Snow raining outside, fire storming inside.
Labor pains are forgotten by the world.
Scars remain.
Hard earned, and blown away in the icy winds.
Hollow reassurances have temporary hold.
Like glass they crumble, a pile of crystal ash remains.
This is the result of good intention.
Beautiful and broken.
No one awaits the Phoenix.
No Phoenix comes.
The clear grave remains.
For expectations bring lofty dreams.
Behind kind eyes, tears remain.
Very cold outside, nothing but ash inside.
A furnace blazes within.
Outside a calm blanket of white settles.
A peaceful morning.
