A Mother's Shadow

Hidden Hurts

By Cynthia Frazier-ParlerPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

When there is only one child given, that is a mother's shadow.

Hope, regrets, and the need for love to fill a void, now becomes her friend.

Chastisement of failed mistakes over shadows them both,

deep hurts that have no excuse are embedded within. Harsh words

become tangled . Silence is brutal when the right words are amidst,

but much too painful to express.

In this silhouette shadow, they look at one another as a deep glaze,

as if they could change places. Noone knows or could ever explain,

the emptiness and hurt this mother feels. It is said that time will

eventually heal all pain.

Maturity and the love of her only child will certainly attempt to

help her some how. In this shadow of those two, life has a way

of revealing; what was once hidden now becomes plain as day.

A mother's shadow can be a good or bad thing but plenty of

love can change anything. Too many voids can become hollow inside

but it only takes one blessing from above to cause all this anguish

to subside.
