A Moment of Magic
A time to hold

Her little hand is close in mine,
I squeeze it as we near the time:
Our full attention,
A ball of gold,
Sinking in the mirror sea.
***
Clouds of glory frame the sight
And sparkling eyes reflect the light.
Against the glow
A distant gull;
We sigh as one.
***
Here is beauty
In slow movement
Silently vanishing.
I’d love to make the moment stand,
The way I hold her trusting hand.
***
“Going…” I declare,
Just a sliver left.
“Going, going… Gone!”
We gaze in poignant stillness, then
“Aunty! Aunty, do it again!”
