A Love Burns

Reigniting a lost love

We talked naked,

We bared everything,

We're like a moth to a flame,

Having a night to remember.

Our bodies talked,

Gave out hints,

That we don't want to show,

'Bout how much love we held back.

Responsibility and history,

Reasons and decisions,

Fearless questions

Trying to learn from each other.

I wish to know more,

But I have gained enough,

Enough reason to stay,

And try once more.

I hate you for this,

It's an unescapable curse,

A poison I love,

But I do think it's worth.

The pain I get,

This chalice of sorrow,

I'd do it again,

For closure I must.
