You got a friend in me

A friend

One misty night, a sorrowful, young boy walked through his tiny village,

in desperate need of finding something very, very dear to his small existence,

A quiet sound wafted its way to him, being a curious child he followed it,

his eyes met another pair, a child sat on the pavement, his quiet cries filling the gloomy village,

his eyes were swimming in sad tears and his dirty hands tried to conceal his poor face,

his face was streaming with tears as he tried to wipe them with his hands,

he went closer to the crying boy,

and put an arm around his shoulders,

a cheery smile reached his unhappy face,

as he got what he wanted - A Friend.
