From social commentary

To social adversaries

All seeking for attention

All looking for a pension

Trying to escape the daily bustle

Trying to perfect our daily hustle

Always scared of failing

Fear of never scaling

Up, to the next level

So we try to revel

In art that we make

In art we create

Striding forth with a gait to the gate

Cause every person wants to be in charge of their own fate

Yet, as of late

We feel trapped in a caged pit

People just rage quit

Cause they all hate it

Fearing, that they will never just make it

Face it

The truth we can't deny

Seeking validation through other people's eyes

Other people's lies

Or maybe it's their truth,

And perspective

Yet, the collective

Gander is not always good for the goose

So, it's best to let loose

And stay true

To You

Yourself, Your Me, Your I

Continue to move forward

Cause all you can do is Try

...

Author's Notes: This is a comment I left on JAX SWARTZ story. I liked it so much I figured that I should post it on my own page. Go give her poem a read. It's titled, "#Subscribe, Like, Follow." Here's the link to her poem: https://vocal.media/poets/subscribe-like-follow

I need to make more poems like that. Ones that just come from sheer inspiration. It's sort of cathartic.
