Will you stay this way?

A Cloudy Day
Photo by Neda Astani on Unsplash

I wake up to clouds on the horizon.

Must I rise now? Maybe another minute beneath the covers.

Sun, where are you?

The clouds are a blanket across the sky.

Minutes pass. Tick, tick, tick.

I see you sun trying to peek through the clouds but you retreat quickly.

More minutes pass. Tick, tick, tick.

I see blue from the sky appearing. Could it be?

The room grows brighter.

Sun, please come out now.

I see you sun trying to peek through the clouds again. Please, don’t hide a second time.

More minutes pass. Tick, tick, tick.

I stop in my tracks. You’re here.

It’s going to be a sunny day after all.
