The Earth shakes

The palisades broke tomorrow

My placid lake was taken

When I woke to sorrow

The hull of the boat was broken

By the storm stoked by hate

The sentence was wrote

And I was smitten

In My Future

When my ground was shaken

***

The World aches

The promenades overshadowed

The love of my life was still

‘Til struck by strife and sorrow

Our ship’s tiller was stolen

And I was born to bear the weight

But my heart was smote

And divorce written

In My Future

When my ground shaked

***

Why do I fear the future

Is it change or chaos

The War for Peace?

***

Why do I hate the hatred

Is it acrimony or medicine

The Toxic Gasps for Air?

***

Has my anxiety overreached

Or Am I Too desperate to be spared

From being froze

With suspicion

Of My Future

When my ground was shaken?
