7 Billion People; 1 Question

Seven billion people

all want the same answers,

to the same questions:

What is the meaning of it all? Why am I here? What is the purpose of this life - my life?

We all seem to believe that, one day, if we just keep trying;

persevering -

maybe, if we’re lucky, we’ll finally get those precious answers we so desperately crave.

But perhaps

there is no great purpose for all of it.

Maybe,

because we are so focused on finding something,

we miss the things that are right in front of us.

Maybe life isn’t about this grand reveal.

Maybe it’s about rolling down the car windows on a nice day. Or the feeling you get when someone says “I love you” for the very first time. Maybe it’s about that timeless moment in the midst of laughter when, just for a heartbeat, everything else disappears.

Maybe everything we’ve been searching for is already there.

Maybe we just have to stop looking ahead

and start looking around us instead.

Maybe we just have to look.
